Many of our staff members have been with the practice for the long term, from 12 to 32 years. Our experienced team of dental professionals is committed to exceptional, personalized care. We take the time to listen to what you have to say and get to know you better. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with our patients and make every visit a comfortable and positive experience. Meet Overmeyer Family Dental’s team:
Since 2001, Jennifer has been trained and certified in customer service rep (CSR), business management, information technology, and Microsoft. Her position with Overmeyer Family Dental allows her to help with new patients, recall, and continuing care. Jennifer feels very fortunate to work with skilled, caring doctors, hygienists, front office staff, and a great professional dental team. Her enjoyable position gives her the opportunity to learn new information daily that she can apply to regular tasks. Her bilingual skills comfort and assist patients with any dental needs in our office.
In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys hanging out with her son and other family. She also volunteers with her sister for the medical clubs MAPS and AMSA and the dental club at University of Central Florida (UCF).
Josie is our dental insurance specialist. She works with patients to help them understand their insurance coverage and maximize their annual benefits for a healthy smile. Josie has been a part of the Overmeyer team since 2001, but she has been working in dentistry since 1989 and has also worked as a receptionist and dental assistant.
In her spare time, Josie enjoys spending time with her husband, Paul, her four daughters, and her miniature dachshund, Madison. She also donates her time to the VFW as a chaplain and volunteers for fundraisers for cancer research and the Wood Soldier Group.
Rosie works as the appointment secretary. She graduated from New York’s Clara Barton High School for Medical Health Professions in 1975 as a certified dental assistant and has worked in almost every area of a dental office since. What she loves about her job is assisting, facilitating, and accommodating patients’ needs. She loves working in a loving, relaxing, caring, and warm environment with an elite professional team. In her spare time, she enjoys doing crafts, playing bingo, sunbathing, and watching Netflix with her husband and two sons.
Since the middle of the 1970s, Sarah has worked in many aspects of dentistry including the dental lab, dental assisting, and front desk. She has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Tom Overmeyer since 1982, currently as the office manager. Over the years, Sarah has had the delight of watching many of our patients grow up, now bringing in children of their own.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys reading books and being involved with her church. She believes that it has been a blessing to work with doctors and staff that genuinely care for their patients’ dental health.
Diane works as a certified dental assistant with more than 30 years of experience. She loves her job because she enjoys seeing patients achieve beautiful, healthy smiles. In her spare time, she enjoys sports (she’s a die-hard Nole fan), spending time with her three sons, and playing with her dog, Simba.
Sharon is a certified dental assistant, having passed her national boards in 1988. After working as a sub-assistant and gaining a greater knowledge of dentistry, she began her employment with Dr. Overmeyer in 1995. For more than 20 years, she has worked alongside Dr. Overmeyer, assisting him with optimal patient care. In 2014, Sharon graduated from UCF with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her plans are to graduate with a master’s in psychology, focusing on dental phobias, with the hope of incorporating her expertise into Dr. Overmeyer’s practice.
Leah graduated with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene from Armstrong Atlantic in Savannah, GA in 1973. She loves her job because she gets to develop rapport with her patients and educates them in caring for their smiles. Leah has been with Dr. Overmeyer’s team since 1997. Because of the many changes in dentistry over the years, continuing education has been very important in helping Leah stay up to date with the latest care techniques.
Leah has been married to her husband for almost 40 years. They have two adult children and four beautiful grandchildren. Leah and her family are huge University of Florida Gator fans and love spending time together.
Leigh Ann works as a registered dental hygienist. She graduated from Santa Fe Community College at the University of Florida in 1987. In 1992, she joined Dr. Overmeyer’s team.
